We are seeking a physician with leadership experience to lead an established Hospitalist program at Houston Methodist Baytown in close collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team. Candidates must be Board Certified in IM/FM with experience in Hospital Medicine. Our mission is to provide safe, high-quality care, the first time, every time, to HMB patients within a professional, collegial, inter-professional multi-disciplinary team to produce optimal efficiency and premier customer service.
Our hospital is located 30 miles southeast of Houston. Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital is the area's only full-service hospital offering specialized medical care for patients at every stage in life. We are a 230 licensed bed hospital with 12 operating rooms, more than 600 physicians on staff, and over 1,700 employees. We strive to bring Medical Center excellence and quality care close to East Harris County, and surrounding communities.
In 2020, Houston Methodist Baytown completed a $100 million construction and renovation project that includes a new 20-bed observation unit, a state-of-the-art outpatient center, a three-story tower with an expanded emergency department, Level II neonatal intensive care unit, and a 26-bed medical/surgical unit. The project encompasses the renovated Houston Methodist Cancer Center at Baytown facility, including a new infusion therapy suite. We opened our new Unity Tower in 2022 with the addition of 2 Surgical Units and a new ICU.
Our Hospitalist team is comprised of more than 25 physicians with dedicated nocturnists, and 20+ APPs who work closely in geographically located multi-disciplinary teams. Hospitalists are employed by the Houston Methodist Physician Organization (PO) as part of a large multi-specialty group. The leader will work closely with PO Admin support, APP leadership, and the CMO/CQO to be accountable for delivering unparalleled clinical and quality outcomes for the Hospitalist teams while focusing on growth and innovations. The Medical director will have a mix of administrative and clinical duties while also serving on various hospital-based committees as a key member.
