Position Overview:
Houston Methodist, a nationally recognized, award-winning healthcare organization, is seeking a skilled Advanced Gastroenterologist to join its dynamic team at the Texas Medical Center. This position provides a unique opportunity to work with the #1 Hospital System in TX (recognized by U.S. News & World Report) providing high-quality patient care while engaging in clinical research and academic teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert clinical care in advanced gastroenterology, including management of complex gastrointestinal conditions, diagnostic evaluations, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Perform advanced endoscopic procedures such as ERCP, EUS, and EMR.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage patient care, contributing to innovative treatment plans and ongoing clinical trials.
  • Participate in education and mentorship of medical residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Engage in and contribute to the development of research initiatives in gastroenterology.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient records.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the gastroenterology division within Houston Methodist.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification in Gastroenterology.
  • Fellowship training in Advanced Endoscopy or equivalent advanced gastroenterology specialization.
  • Strong clinical, diagnostic, and procedural skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to academic excellence, teaching, and patient-centered care.

  • Specialists at Houston Methodist Lynda K. and David M. Underwood Center for Digestive Disorders provide a patient-centric, comprehensive approach to the evaluation and management of gastrointestinal conditions. Patients travel from Texas and around the country for nationally known, top-rated gastroenterology and GI surgery expertise at Houston Methodist.
