Health care in Houston is getting an upgrade with the future Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital (HMCY). With construction still ongoing, HMCY celebrated opening these facilities on May 6:
- Houston Methodist Neal Cancer Center at Cypress
- Houston Methodist Breast Care Center at Cypress
- Houston Methodist Infusion Center at Cypress
- Houston Methodist Outpatient Lab Services at Cypress
“The opening of our cancer, infusion and breast care services, along with the recent opening of our physical therapy and rehabilitation programs, are milestones for Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital as we work toward becoming a health care hub for this community,” stated HMCY’s CEO, Trent Fulin.
This marks the second wave of early services at HMCY, now the system’s ninth hospital. The first wave in March included emergency care, orthopedics and sports medicine, physical and occupational therapy and primary care. HMCY will officially open in Q1 of 2025, with 100 licensed beds to start, expanding to 400 beds in the future.
“We’re proud to bring cancer care to our community,” said Lindsey Pimentel, director of oncology services at Houston Methodist Cypress. “It’s important for us to ensure every patient that walks through our doors feels the high-quality, comprehensive care provided at Houston Methodist close to home.”
In 2025, HMCY’s services will expand to include acute care surgery, gastroenterology, cardiology, neurology and more. By incorporating tech innovations from the system’s research hubs across Houston, HMCY will ensure the highest standard of care and create significant job growth. Cypress plans to open with 770 employees and eventually grow to 2,900.
