Houston Methodist celebrates another milestone in 2024! Fortune with PINC AI released their annual ‘15 Top Health Systems’ list, identifying the best-performing health systems across the US. Categorized by small, medium and large systems, Houston Methodist not only remained in the Top Large Health Systems category for the second year but also moved up–proudly sitting at #3 in 2024.
Researchers used Medicare data on 355 health systems to compile the list, assessing clinical outcomes, operational efficiency and patient experience. Focused on key performance indicators such as inpatient mortality and average length of stay, the 15 awardees in 2024 outshined the others across all measures. Houston Methodist is honored to be recognized for such a reputable award, reaffirming our commitment to providing the best possible care for our patients.
The study also projected that if all health systems performed like their 15-ranked peers, there would be 220,000 fewer patient deaths annually and 196,000 fewer complications. Patients would spend less time in the hospital, reducing care costs by 2%.
