Houston Methodist is excited to announce our recent recognition in Forbes' annual list of America's best employers for women. Ranked #24 out of 400 companies recognized on this year's list, Houston Methodist's commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment has earned our community a prominent position among top employers nationwide for female employees.
Partnering with Statista, leading publication and market research firm, Forbes created its list by administering surveys to 60,000 employees across the country, all working at companies with at least 1,000 employees. Two-thirds of the respondents were women.
Survey participants, particularly women, were asked to provide feedback on various aspects of their workplaces, including:
- Work environment
- Salary & pay equity
- Parental leave policies
- Gender diversity
- Flexibility
- Availability of leadership & advancement opportunities (for women employees)
- Representation of women in upper management
- Employer response to discriminatory incidents
Houston Methodist's exceptional performance in these areas, including the percentage of women in executive management and board positions, helped us reach this achievement and reflects our system's ongoing commitment to prioritizing gender diversity and inclusion.
