Houston Methodist is excited to share that four of The Woodlands Hospital's leading physicians have been honored as 2023 Physicians of the Year. Congratulations to the awardees who have demonstrated exemplary care for our patients and fellow team members throughout our Houston Methodist community.
Each award represents a Houston Methodist key pillar of "unparalleled" excellence: safety, quality, service, and innovation. Collective, candid feedback from peers, hospital leaders, physician teams, and personal letters from patients helped determine the following 2023 Physicians of the Year honorees:
- Honoree in Unparalleled Safety: Dr. Bradley Spartz, Emergency Medicine Specialist
- Honoree in Unparalleled Quality: Dr. Sayl Bunyan, Vice President of Medical Staff / Chair of Surgery
- Honoree in Unparalleled Service: Dr. Mariola Mjaltaj, Primary Care Physician, Houston Methodist Primary Care Group
- Honoree in Unparalleled Innovation: Dr. Rajesh Venkataraman, Cardiologist, Medical Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology
Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital employed 350 physicians on its opening day in 2017. Over 1,100 physicians are on staff today, and we continue to grow. The Woodlands Hospital and our esteemed Houston Methodist community take immense pride in the achievements of our exceptional care teams, who continue to serve as distinguished leaders in medicine daily.
